😤 Getting short-tempered after quitting isn't because you've become a worse person
Irritability right after quitting isn't proof of a bad personality. It might be the start of learning to handle emotions without tobacco.
A few days into quitting, you sometimes react hard to an offhand comment from family.
The volume of the TV, how the dishes are set down, a work chat, waiting at the register. Things you'd normally let slide dig in oddly. When you cool off afterward, you surprise even yourself.
You don't need to conclude from that, "quitting turned me into a nasty person."
Irritability isn't proof of your character
Irritability right after quitting isn't evidence that your personality changed. It's a reaction that happens while your brain and body are still adjusting to a nicotine-free state.
