🌤️ For anyone scared that "quitting will wreck my mental health"
Some people, even when they want to quit, feel the worry about their mental health before the health risks.
I'll probably get irritable if I quit.
My anxiety will get worse.
I won't be able to handle work.
This isn't you being soft. For someone who's smoked for a long time, cigarettes can become a tool for shifting your mood — swallowing anger, blurring anxiety, dragging a tired version of yourself back to work. If you've reached for a cigarette every one of those times, it's natural to be scared of quitting.
But that fear isn't necessarily an accurate forecast of your future.
