🧠 Does nicotine give you focus, or build a body that can't focus?
"Smoking helps me focus" — did tobacco give you focus, or just build a body that can't focus without it?
Plenty of people say "smoking helps me focus."
Flatly denying that feeling probably won't land. Because in their own experience, they really did focus. Work piles up, they smoke one, and when they come back, their head feels a little lighter. They can write the email. They can face the document.
So they think tobacco is a switch for focus.
But was that focus really something tobacco gave you?
Maybe it just brought you back from minus to zero
It might be that tobacco isn't handing you new focus at all — it's just temporarily restoring the state that dropped when your nicotine ran low.
