🔁 Cigarette money is a subscription you can't see
Cigarette money is a subscription you can't see — and the cancel button is hidden.
Cigarette money is strangely invisible in a household budget.
Rent and your phone bill get treated as fixed monthly costs. But cigarettes you buy one pack at a time. At the convenience store, by the station, on the way home from work. Because the payments are split into small pieces, it doesn't feel like a real chunk of money is leaving your life.
But a payment that continues every day is close to a subscription.
The difference is that **the cancel button is hard to find**.
With a streaming service, once you stop watching you think about quitting. Cigarettes continue even on the days you aren't satisfied. Even when you regret it afterward, the next day you can buy them again in the same place.
